Internetzugang auf dem BarCamp Hannover

Für den Internetanschluss auf dem BarCamp gibt es zwei Möglichkeiten:

Zugang mit dem eigenen Rechner in das W-LAN ist über den Cisco VPN Client und einen individuellen Login möglich (siehe Anleitung unten; ohne Garantie auf ständige Verfügbarkeit).
Der Zugang ins LAN ist für Vortragende über die hochschuleigenen Rechner in den Session-Räumen möglich. Entsprechende Passwörter werden zur Verfügung gestellt.

Installationsanleitung für W-LAN-Zugang

Wir nutzen für den W-LAN-Zugriff die Infrastruktur des IJK Hannover und der FH Hannover. Dazu ist eine etwas aufwändigere Installationsprozedur nötig. Wir empfehlen euch, die unten genannten Schritte soweit möglich schon vor der Anreise durchzuführen, um möglichen Problemen möglichst früh zu begegnen.

1. Cisco VPN Client herunterladen

Den Cisco VPN Client könnt ihr hier herunterladen:

Dort findet ihr den richtigen Download für euer Betriebssystem (Windows, Linux, Mac OS X). Wichtig: Auf dem dort gehosteten Client sind bereits zwei Profile vorinstalliert. Diese funktionieren aber nicht auf dem Barcamp Hannover. Für das Barcamp benötigt ihr ein anderes Profil, das wir euch separat zukommen lassen. Der Cisco VPN Client ist nicht für Smartphones, iPhones etc. erhältlich.

2. IJK Hannover Netzwerkprofil importieren

Da wir gebeten wurden, das Netzwerkprofil für das IJK nicht im Netz zu posten, werden wir es euch in Kürze über das mixxt-Nachrichtensystem zukommen lassen. Dieses Profil könnt ihr dann in den VPN Cisco Client importieren.

3. Mit individuellem Login anmelden

Jeder von euch erhält einen individuellen Login mit Name und Passwort. Ohne dieses Login könnt ihr euch nicht ins Netz einloggen. Das Passwort bekommt ihr vor Ort auf der Warm-Up-Party oder bei der Anmeldung am Samstag und Sonntag.

4. Proxy-Server einstellen

Der Zugriff über das Uni-VPN läuft über einen Proxy. Die Adresse muss im Browser eingegeben werden:

Die Adresse des Proxy: proxy.dm.fh-hannover.de
Port: 8080

Anwendungen, die nicht HTTP oder HTTPS als Protokoll verwenden, lassen sich auf dem Barcamp möglicherweise nicht mit dem W-LAN verbinden.

How to connect at the Barcamp Hannover

There are two ways to connect with the internet at the Barcamp Hannover:

You can access the W-LAN via the Cisco VPN Client and a personal login (see instructions below)
For session holders a computer with LAN connection is available in most session rooms.

Setup guide for W-LAN access

BarCamp participants can use the network infrastructure of the http://www.ijk.hmt-hannover.de|IJK Hannover] and the FH Hannover for W-LAN connectivity. Therefore the following setup process is neccessary.

1. Download the Cisco VPN Client

You can get the Cisco VPN Client here:

You should find the right download for your OS there (Windows, Linux, Mac OS X). Important: There are two profiles pre-installed. Those don’t work at the Barcamp location. You need another profile which you will receive separately from the organization team. The Cisco VPN Client is only available for major OS. Unfortunately, that means you won’t be able to connect with your Smartphones, iPhones, etc.

2. Import the IJK Hannover network profile

Since we have been asked not to post the W-LAN profile on the internet, we will send you the network profile for the Barcamp location through the mixxt message system. All you have to do is to import the profile into the Cisco VPN client.

3. Your individual login for the network

You will get an individual login name and password. Without those you won’t be able to access the W-LAN. You will get your individual login data either at the warm up party or at your check-in on Saturday or Sunday.

4. Setup a proxy server in your browser

Last but not least you have to configure a proxy server in your browser.

The address for the proxy is: proxy.dm.fh-hannover.de
The port number is: 8080

Your applications might not work if they are not using HTTP or HTTPS as protocol.
